Photos by Sharon – It doesn’t get any better than this!
On Saturday May 2, nine Cruisers ran at Rocky Point. Bobtheelder showed up to say hello but did not run as he is doing a half marathon at the BMO event on Sunday. Leanne and Joy ran for 45 minutes along the trails leading up to the paved route. Note: there are some beginner runners in the group, so if you are a beginner feel free to attend. Laurie and Edie ran for just over an hour, close to 10 km, while Rod, Sharon, Gina, Carla and Larry ran 12.5 km along Ioco Road to the Esso oil refinery gates and back. The trails at Rocky Point are in great shape. While on the way back, we were passed (whoosh!) by a young woman who told us she had done the Sun Run in 37 minutes. Ryan and Stormin Norman take note! Although it was cloudy it did not rain, and it was warmer. It was a profitable run, as Rod collected 17 golf balls and Sharon picked up $1.55 in beer cans and bottles! We did our bit to clean up the environment.
Thanks to Sharon for the photo! And, Rod did 4 hill repeats last Wednesday, not 3 (my error). Every bit counts once you get out of the car!
Interest has been expressed in the Scotiabank half marathon by some Cruisers not going to Seattle. Please note the web link in the Upcoming Events section below for this event.
