Cruisers RA Edie, Rod, Shiraz, Bob, Lynn and Al welcomed Cheryl, Chris Conn’s wife to the group Monday at Cameron Centre. The seven set their compasses east towards Como Lake. The runners ran to the lake in leisurely fashion, circumnavigated it once and returned to the Centre, distance 9.4 km, time 1.08. Lynn and Al walked as far east as McIntosh St then returned to the Centre via Smith Avenue, distance 6.5 km, time one hour. The weather was warm and muggy, and within the Cameron area and an area at Como Lake snowfall-like conditions from the local cottonwood trees prevailed. The grassy areas and parking lot at the Centre were white.
Wednesday:
Nine Cruisers, under pregnant clouds which finally dumped a light, warm rain did hill repeats on North Road. Rod Wednesday evening from the Centre, Tracy and Larry did 10 x. Bobtoc, Sharon, Libby, Shiraz, RA Edie did lesser numbers, and they were joined in the training by Stormin’ Norman, still in his green scrubs from Royal Columbian Hosp.,in a cameo appearance on his way home. The atmosphere was very heavy and humid, which changed when the rains arrived.
