The Cruisers before setting out for the scenic beauty of Deer Lake – What a lucky group to run in such wonderful places!
Leanne, Edie, Larry, Laurie, Ryan, Sharon, Carla & Gina
(Shiraz in his car still)
Cruisers ran Saturday, 7.30 am, from the Rugby Clubhouse at Burnaby Lake. The report for that run follows, again courtesy of Larry:
Larry, Laurie, Edie, Sharon, Gina, Carla, Shiraz, Ryan ran while Leanne walked/ran. Larry, Gina, Carla and Shiraz did about 15 km in 1 hour 25 minutes, while Edie and Laurie ran out to the Nature House and back in addition, doing 17.84 km precisely in 1 hour 57 minutes, Sharon doing 18 km in under 2 hours, and Ryan about 32 km, running out to Bby Lake and then back home. Shiraz may have a sore hip for a few days, but otherwise is fine.
But still the Cruisers were not finished. Here is another report, courtesy of Leanne Dalton:
Just reporting on my solo run this morning. I met up with the Cruisers this morning, but being the only short distance/slow pace runner/walker in attendance, made a decision to set out on my own. Went from the Rugby club along the trail parallel to Winston until about 5 mins past Piper Spit and then retraced my steps. 55 minutes out in total and about 6.5 km (best guess anyway). It was a beautiful morning for a run!
Sharon Kelly sent out an additional report of the Saturday am run in which she advised that a runner who shall remain nameless, but he won’t remain so, his name being Shiraz Mohamed, qualified as the newest member of the Fallers’ Club.
Announcement: When the trophy, presently ensconced in Debra Nicol’s living room, is returned to the Cruisers, a presentation to Shiraz will be made with all the pomp and circumstance the Cruisers can muster. Congratulations to the newest “winner” of this non-prestigious award.
