Saturday
Three men and NO women, bucking the usual trend in the run-walk fields, met at the Burnaby Lake parking lot at 7.30 this morning on a beautiful BC day, probably the best day of the year. Rick Davidson of TELUS joined Bobtoc and Al Field. Rick’s goal was 9 miles lsd in training for the Victoria Marathon. He and Bobtoc ran and Al walked from the parking lot west on Sprott, south on Norland Avenue. Rick continued to Deer Lake Parkway to Royal Oak going south, then headed back onto the trail to circumvent Deer Lake, joining Bobtoc and Al. The trio continued to the beach with Al breathing down the necks of the runners to Sperling, turned north, passed the Hosers at No. 1 FireHall, entered the exit ramp and overpass of No.1 highway and returned to the parking lot. Rick continued his run to circumvent Burnaby Lake to complete his 9 mile goal. Time for Al and Bob, including his Bobturns for Al, 57.44, Rick, longer for his run around the Burnaby Lake.
