It doesn’t get any more beautiful than this – Stanley Park in the sunshine.
Eight runners and walkers welcomed Osama Atif to the Cruisers Monday evening. Osama is a grade 12 student at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School who wishes at least to run a half marathon before graduating. Lynn and Al walked, although I haven’t received a report from them. Tracy and Adele also walked separate from Lynn and Al for approximately one hour in the Sullivan Heights area. Edie, Lora, Sayeeda,Osama and Bobtoc ran west to the IGA corner and return, time 1:08, 9.5 km. All nine enjoyed a no precip, cool but comfortable evening, great for our activity.

Seven runners and one walker met Wednesday at the Centre on a cold and no precip evening. Libby, Sayeeda, Rod, Alex, Lora, Edie and Bobtoc ran to Underhill Avenue, did hill repeats 3x, while Alex did 3 1/2 x, then ran east to the Gaglardi overpass to return to the Centre. The seven had a great time, enjoyed the weather, watched their footing due to slippery leaves on the pavement and the poor lighting on the approach to the overpass. Larry was the lone walker, still overcoming plantar fasciatiis, who walked to Underhill and Eastlake and return, out one hour.

Old Guys Rule. (That’s only because there were no chicks) Reliable older chaps Rod and Bob turned up bright and early , well, turned up, Saturday for the usual morning run, plus Al and Lynn and their two gorgeous dogs. Al and Lynn took off west for at least an hour’s run, details not available at press time. Rod and Bob, feeling the cold, ran only to Eastlake and Underhill, 38 minutes, 5 km, and then repaired to the local Tim Horton’s emporium to debrief, enjoying one decaffeinated double double and one medium coffee only, no lard balls, in deference to Tracy who was not with us. The older chaps found the temperature cold and the sidewalks and asphalt underfoot a bit dicey. The coffee and conversation where just right.
