Monday: Seven runners: Bonny wee Edie, Sharon, Rod, Ryan, Bobtoc welcomed Osama Atif back into our midst and welcomed again Rene Lattmann, a grad from the Cameron Sun Run. The runners ran to Joe’s trail then across North Road to Hume Park before retracing steps to Cameron Centre. Time and distance, 1:06, 7.9 km. The seven missed the rain that poured we understand on Westwood Plateau, Port Moody and Burnaby west of Duthie Avenue.

Wednesday:Sharon, Rene, Rod, Libby, Sayeeda (fresh from Machu Pichu) and Edie ran to Underhill and thefirst five did 4 hills and the latter supervised at the top of the hill after 2. We didn’t get rained on. We were out about 1:05 but I don’t know the distance for the five keeners so can you fill Bob in, Rod? We didn’t get rained on. We were greeted at Cameron by Tom and presented him with a Cameron Cruiser keepsake photo. He is leaving for a trip to the Rocky Mountains on Friday and returning to Korea on the 14th so we may not get to run with him again. That’s it. We debriefed under the tree for a few minutes then went home, alas, without partaking of any lardballs.

Friday: Rod went out this morning. Usual way to Kensington Ice Rink then back to Shellmont, up Shellmont and back through Forest Grove with a stop to chat to Adele who was in the park there with six kids. She seems well and is hiking and biking, but can’t run. Time out about 2.15 and distance 18.5 km. Another long run out of the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keener Rod

Sunday: Four Cruisers ran the Burnaby Hospital Foundation Rhythm of Life 10 km Sunday at 9:30 at Burnaby Lake on a cloudy but bright m
orning. The atmosphere on the route around the lake was muggy but cool breezes from time to time provided relief. The run was well organized with sufficient volunteers, food, music, water stations. There were many familiar faces from the Burnaby Lake and Cameron Sun Run Clinics as well as the Eileen Dailly running group. Rainy Kent, Joe Turtle, Gavin Tansley were on site early and were busy in the registration tent, but did appear on the 10 km route. Results for the four Cruisers are:

Carla 58:13
Bobtoc 115:22
Edie 115:22
Diana 118:13.
A good time was had by all; as said the weather was good, ideal for the run, and it was super to see so many running friends there. Kudos to Rainy and Joe for getting so many of our running friends into this worthy fun(d)raiser. Full results are published on the Race Headquarters website.
