Eight Cruisers ran or walked Monday from the Centre on a +5C, clear skies evening. Runners Rene, Norman, Sayeeda, Rod, Sharon and Bobtoc ran to IGA and return, the first three finishing in approximately an hour, Rod in 1:05, and Sharon and Bobtoc 1:15, distance 9.5km with Rod probably 10.00 even due to Bobturns. Walkers Edie, Larry and Edie’s niece walked to Underhill and Eastlake, time out 1:00.
Eight Cruisers ran or walked Wednesday from the Centre on a +7C evening. Runners Rene, Alex, Libby, Sharon, Edie (with April) and Bobtoc ran west onto Eastlake, Rene running only to Eastlake and Production Way, the other five continuing to Arden Drive, Meadowood, and back to Cameron. Rain started in the vicinity of the entrance to the overpass and continued. Time out, 1:10, distance approx 8 km. Walkers Adele and Tracy walked to and returned from Eastlake and Production Way, time out 30 minutes, thereby missing the rain.
Saturday: Cruisers stop to view the dam beavers, oops, I mean the beavers’ dam…………….
Six Cruisers plus Flora’s husband Ross turned out Saturday morning for a run/walk to the trail north of Burnaby Lake, the route being Cameron Street across the footbridge leading south to Govern
ment Street, Cariboo Road then into the trail. Runners Shiraz, Sharon, Edie and Bobtoc, followed by Flora who also who also ran as far as the Nature house, or as Sherian called it – “the warming house”. The five took time out to view the beaver houses on the lake. Flora then joined Ross and Larry for the return walk. Running time for the 4, 58 minutes, including tim
e for a pit stop and viewing nature around the lake. It was 5 degrees, high humidity, mist on the lake. Sherian treated the group to matrimonial cake and juice after the run/walk.
