Monday: Carla, Debra, Larry, Rod and Sharon, Edie with canine April and Bobtoc met at the Centre this evening 6:30. The first five ran to IGA with the exception of Sharon who ran only to Underhill and Broadway then met up with Edie and Bobtoc who walked to Eastlake and Underhill before returning. The four runners returned in times from 1:00 to 1:04, and the walkers returned in 59:30.
Wednesday: Five Cruisers: RA Edie, Libby, Rod, Sayeeda and Bobtoc ran from the Centre Wednesday along the Stoney Creek trail to North Road, east to and along Chapman Ave., continuing to Robinson Avenue, continued east then south to Ebert Avenue then west back to the Centre, time out 54.00, distance 7.6 km. The five experienced cool and dry weather, although a light sprinkle commenced a few minutes after reaching Cameron Centre.
Saturday:
Twelve Cruisers met at the Centre Saturday morning of the best day of the year. The temperature at start was 4C but it warmed up during the morning. The group split into four, with Sayeeda and Rene’ opting for a run to the SFU trail via the Stoney Creek trail, North Road, their time 1:04, distance unknown; Flora and Ross ran/walked but I don’t know their route or time; the remainder ran west for distance along the familiar route to and past the IGA corner; Larry, Stormin’ Norman and Rick moved out fastest, Larry ran to Madison Avenue before his return, time 2:08, distance about 19 km; Norman and Rick ran to Boundary Road, and on their return met Rod and Bobtoc at Willingdon Avenue so accompanied them to Carleton Avenue, providing Norman and Rick a total of 25 km upon their eventual return to the Centre. Rick and Bobtoc ran /walked back to the Centre, their total time including pit stop 3:18. distance for Rick as said 25 km, for Bobtoc 21.5. RAEdie, Rachel and Alex ran to and returned from the Kensington Ice Arena, distance 16 km, time 2:05 or so, with Alex being tail-gun Charlie for many of the runners. Rod’s distance was 21.5 km, time 2:40, then home to prepare for his grandson’s 7th birthday.
