The “Peruvian Cruisers” find some new running buddies and some spectacular scenery on the trip of a life time. I wonder if those turtles run faster than me.
Tracy, Larry, RA Edie, Sharon and Bobtoc welcomed back Laura Farrelly to the group plus Crystal Crete who lives close by. Mom and pop Val and Rich brought Damien in to see the group, the occasion being Sharon’s birthday,( now she is old enough to vote), celebrated by the Cruisers with a cake complete with sparklers. Thanks to RA Edie who convened the celebration. Adele also made a cameo appearance but could not stay.
Other news:
Alex is recovering from bronchitis, so much that he ran Thursday and Saturday big time. Here is his report:

After being absent from running for 10 plus days, I ran 9K on Thursday and 29.5K on Saturday. My solo run started from 9:00am at the parking lot of Burnaby Lake, went East along the Burnaby Lake trail to Cameron Centre; then turned westward along the usual route to IGA and beyond returning at Gilmore and Frances. On the way back I ran along Union and hit some mild hills. Turned south at Union and Holdom (this was a big mistake because there was a big hill at Holdom and Curtis and very hilly along Curtis.). After a washroom break at the Kensington ice Rink I continued Eastward along Curtis and hit another long big hill going to the intersection of Burnwood and Curtis and then it was downhill back to IGA. Then along the urban trail alongside the golf course to the Lake City Skytrain station. Turned south onto Government Road and finished after passing the pedestrian overpass next to the Sperling Skytrain Station. Total time 4 hours and 10 minutes. The weather was good. Cool and a little bit of sunshine and cloud. The course was challenging but doable. The course would be easier if starts at Cameron Centre ( my initial plan was to start at 8am from Cameron Centre)

Congratulations to the finishers of the April Fools 1/2M Race. Alex

Rod and Pat are home from the Galapagos. Had a fabulous time. Watch for him Wednesday.

Wednesday: It was a considerably better evening for a run on Wednesday, after the weather debacle of Monday. On Wednesday, eight Cruisers (including the canine variety) welcomed Rod back from his great trip to the Galapagos, and René from his enjoyable sojourn in Mexico, so the group of nine of Rod, Libby, Rachel, Shiraz, Sharon, René, Larry, Edie, plus regular canine runner April, ran along Joe’s Trail to North Road and back along the trail, for a pleasant, easygoing jaunt, enjoying the evening sun and getting the post-Fools Run kinks out and for others, limbering up for spring training for the races (Sun Run, Penticton, Whistler, etc.) to come later. It was good to do a different route now that it is daylight for our evening runs. Time out, approximately 1 hour, with good conversations taking priority, and what’s wrong with that??
