Five Cruisers: RA Edie, Carla, Lora, Tracy and Bobtoc met Monday at the Centre. Edie is recovering from the ‘flu therefore walked with her two dogs. Tracy led the other three on the reverse Forest Grove Drive with a twist at Underhill where the four ran north to the lane behind the elementary school east through to Ashgrove Drive, meeting Forest Grove Drive and home again over the Gaglardi pedestrian overpass. Beaverbrooks to the Centre, time 1:00 flat, guestimated distance 7km. The five escaped the light rain which started when all returned to the Centre. Ahh! Daylight! On Ashgrove Drive which we haven’t used for eons!
News from Rachel Fouladi, prof. from SFU: Rachel completed her second 12 hour relay for the 12 hour SFU Relay for Life March 25th 7pm-March 26th 7am and helped raise $34,000 for the fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society, covering 500 laps at 150 meters each, call it 75 km and change. Hi to all, Rod and Pat

Wednesday: Rachel and Shi
raz did an easy but enjoyable 4 km run and got in just before the rain came down. Starting
out from Cameron they took a right on Beaverbrook , over the pedestrian overpass , took
a left on Forest Grove and down the hill to Eastlake Blvd and back. Time out 37minutes.

RA Edie, Larry and Bobtoc

From Rod in Central America:
Greetings from Cusco. Things are going well except I had a day off with the runs. We are leaving here for the great trek tomorrow. Back on Sunday, then on to Lima on Monday and home on Tuesday. Cusco very third world as Sayeeda will tell you.
Flora and husband Ross met at the Centre Saturday morning for their walk/run. They experienced a no-precip morning and a bracing temperature, both wearing shorts. Their route was west from the Centre to Beaverbrook, Eastlake to Underhill and return, time 60 minutes, followed by a debriefing over coffee at Joey’s Blend on Austin Road on the way home.

Seven Cruisers/adherents enjoyed the April Fools Half Marathon yesterday morning, a route which starts in Gibsons and ends at the Davis Bay Beach just before the BIG hill leading up to Sechelt. The seven joined 473 other finishers, 212 males and 268 women (again I say Canadian women rock) on a cool but no -precip day when the sun shone through the clouds from time to time. The organization of the run was maintained at the usual high level we have come to expect. Kudos
to Teresa Nightingale and her fabulous volunteers!
