Monday: Six runners ran from Cameron Centre to North Road via Winston and Joe’s Trail. This time we didn’t drown as there was no rain. Alex, April, Edie, Iris, Rod and Sherian ran 8k in 59 minutes. We passed bikers, walkers, runners and other dogs along the way. The river was much slower than it was on Saturday and the temperature was a balmy 15 degrees so we were all warm and toasty by the time we returned to Cameron Centre. Until Wednesday……
Only Sharon and Libby showed up Wednesday on a very rainy evening at the Centre. The two opted to run to Como Lake and circumnavigate it and return, time 1:15, distance close to 9:5 km. Sharon reported the trail around the lake was the wettest she had seen, with places under 3 inches of water and covered the width of the trail. The only company the intrepid duo had were a few goslings keeping close to their moms and a solitary fellow dressed in full rain gear walking his “doggie”. Good doggie! Good solitary fellow! Thanks to Sharon for her report.
Ten Cruisers met Saturday morning and were blessed with no rain, cloudy with sun making ideal conditions for the EZ run and walk. Alex, Chris Keeling,RA Edie with canine April, Flora and Ross, Larry, Laura, Rachel, Rod and Bobtoc headed west and south to Joe’s Trail into Hume Park, continuing onto Larry’s Hill and the trail heading east to the Coast Mountain bus turnaround before returning to the Centre. Ross walked a lesser distance. The nine runners completed 10.2 km, a one hour run but used between 1:24 and 1:32, taking time to enjoy the flora and fauna.
