Monday: Three met Monday at the Centre where they greeted Prof. Rachel Fouladi who ran from her home, brought us up to date on her trip to Europe, etal. She looks great, and it was wonderful to see her. Flora, Ross and Bobtoc met, with Flora and Bobtoc electing to run short to Underhill along Eastlake then into Lake City Industrial Park for a change in routes, time out, 47 minutes distance approx 5 km. Ross soloed on a short walk. The trio enjoyed perfect weather, some sun, gentle breeze, doesn’t get much better than this.

Wednesday: After a te
rrific season, the Canucks lost in game 7 to the Bruins. It
was a great team. Well done!

Thursday: R A E for Bobtoc.

Thursday, 6 Cruisers met at Cameron to run Forest Grove Backwards. Shiraz and Eion went as far as Underhill and returned. (Shiraz had daddy duty to get back to) while Edie, Rod, Libby and Laurie ran to Shellmont and back to the centre via Meadowwood. Time out 1:05 and distance 8.5k on a perfect night for running and Laura’s first experience of the beautiful (but hilly) Forest Grove route.

Friday: The Cruisers were well represented at the Longest Day Run:
5K
Rachel F. 23:19 Won a watch for a draw prize
Christina 28::21
Laurie 29:53 (2nd in her age group) Anna 23:19
Rachel L. 31:13
Edie 33:38
Flora 47:06
Ross 48:40

10K Chris 49:25
Rene 51:24
Debra 53:16
Alex 53:35
Lora 1:06 Lora’s sister Tiziana !:06 and nephew Justin 47:32

We took a picture but couldn’t find Rene and Lora when we took it so they are missing. Rachel L and Laurie had their names called for draw prizes but they had already left and you had to be there. We missed Larry, but next year…

The food was the best of any run and we all had lots to eat and drink after the run, including white spot cheese cake and lard balls. I had coffee, which turned out to be a mistake sleep wise.

Seventeen Cruisers were busy on the weekend.

We took a picture but couldn’t find Rene and Lora when we took it so they are missing. Rachel L and Laurie had their names called for draw prizes but they had already left and you had to be there. We missed Larry, tied up in traffic in Richmond due to a long holdup in traffic, but next year…

The food was the best of any run and we all had lots to eat and drink after the run, including white spot cheese cake and lard balls. I had coffee, which turned out to be a mistake sleep wise.

Saturday morning:
Eoin, Laura, Rod, Sharon and Bobtoc ran from Rocky Point to April Road and Sunnyside and return, time about 1:15 running, distance 9:6 km. The five experienced overcast skies and a warm light rain, more like an Irish fog, perfect for our run, using the trail going west and the asphalt pavement on the return leg.
