Alex and Angela, Carla, Larry, Rod and Bobtoc attended the Bushtits tailgate party at the Burnaby Lake parking lot Wednesday,
joining a crowd of about 20. The group experienced cool but workable temperature, overcast skies. Alex, Carla and Larry ran 10 km. Rod is tapering for his half marathon Sunday, and Bobtoc rested
his bod, sti
ll hurting from his stumble two weeks ago. The event was great, a time to re-acquaint with so many fellow runners and friends. Kudos to Angela for her contribution to the goodies to eat. Group photo to be sent concurrent with this update.
Alex, Chris Keeling, Laura and Bobtoc squeezed a 60 minute run into 99 minutes Saturday morning. The foursome ran west to the north trail of Burnaby Lake, detouring via Avalon Street from Government Street and Cariboo Road then re-entered the north trail and ran as far as the Nature House at Piper Avenue. The four spent time at the spit viewing the beaver house, the lily pads, the ducks, walked to a Metro Vancouver naturalist who was dipping into the lake for water fauna of
all sorts, all in all admiring God’s creation for us, before returning to the Centre, tasting some blackberries (Nancy Stagg please note) from the highest vines (Nancy Stagg please again note) ably picked for us by Chris. A great morning.
An email from Rod: Ran his 49th half marathon this morning, the Delta Half, time 2:16:52, only five days after his 71st birthday. Well done, Rod!
