Six Cruisers met Monday at Deer Lake Beach. Alex, Rod, Bob, Edie, Minnesota Rachel and Tish Oliver took about 30 minutes to go around Deer Lake so a pretty short run last night. Alex ran 3k to Deer Lake and then again home (up Royal Oak – yuk). It was great to see Tish after a long absence. Very pretty scenery and good to have people who knew the way because I would have still been running otherwise.

Five Cruisers met Wednesday at the Burnaby Lake Golf Course parking lot. Bobtoc, still working around a sciatic nerve, walked to Curtis St and Kensington Ave via Burnwood, Greystone, Curtis then retraced steps at Kensington, turning east to Fell Avenue, south to Halifax and back to the parking lot. Runners Alex, RA Edie, Larry and Laura ran 8.5 km, time 1.07, meeting Bobtoc at the driveway of the golf course parking lot. Their route was: From Burnaby Golf Course to Phillips, to Greystone, through the trail and up Sherlock to Curtis, along Curtis/Parker to Springer, down (and up) Springer to Broadway, up Duthie to Montecito, to Phillips and back to the clubhouse. Holy hill work, Batman!!! (NB. Description of the runners’ run courtesy of Edie. It figures.) Thanks Edie.

Nine Cruisers met Saturday am at the Burnaby Lake parking lot. The nine walked or ran using the Central Valley Greenway. Verna and Bobtoc walked along the route to Willingdon Avenue and return, distance 7.6 k, time 1.39 Runners Alex, Laurie and Edie, Norman and Larry, and Laura and biker Eoin all set forth on the Greenway. Norman and Larry ran 15.5 km past the Casino in the Plaza of Nations area, and returned via Main Street Skytrain. Laura and Eoin ran/biked to Stadium and by coincidence got on the skytrain that Norman and Larry boarded on Main Street. Edie, Laurie and Alex ran 15k to Waterfront in !:50 and caught the sky train. Alex disembarked at Rupert Street and from there ran back about 5k to Burnaby Lake.
