Nine Cruisers joined with Rainy Kent’s group on Bridgeway Street Wednesday on a cold but clear evening for the Christmas light display on Trinity Street ranging from the 2900 block to the 2400 block. Rod, Larry, Edie, Flora, Ross, Shiraz, Chris and Bobtoc walked/ran both sides of the blocks to view the quaint in some cases houses and the Christmas light artwork put together by most of the owners in the blocks. The area was seen by a great many spectators, on foot, in small buses and a limousine, maybe from a funeral home, who knows? Rainy greeted the members of the two clubs but could not stay since she had to go to a meeting. It was a time to re-aquaint with fellow runners from the Eileen Dailly club. The group enjoyed the displays. The Cruisers then re-convened at “their” Tim Horton’s establishment at North Road and Cameron. A group of singers from a local church broke out in Christmas Carols, in which many customers joined; a great way to end the evening. Thanks to Edie for the brainstorm in the first place and Rainy for providing a time, directions and parking instructions.
Four Cruisers showed up on a damp, dismal, dark, dirty morning, no doubt hoping no one would show up. Flora and Larry wore shorts, Rod long pants, Bobtoc in blue jeans and NO Santa hat. The foursome looked at each other, made a decision to have a strategy meeting at Timmie’s. After coffee or french vanilla lattes, Flora went solo for a short run, and the three males, mere males, went home after the four exchanged Christmas pleasantries.
