Cruisers on January 2nd at Rocky Point. Flora tries out new rain gear – very inventive but too hot!

Monday: Bob and Larry met at 8 am at Cameron Centre and ran 8k to Joe’s Trail and back.

Christina, John, Ross, Jennel, Anamaria, Sophia, Flora, Rachel, Laura, Sherian, Debra and Edie with Bella and April met at Rocky Point at 9:30. Christina, Flora, Rachel, Laura and Sherian ran to April Road and returned. Edie and Ross walked to Orchard Park and Edie ran back with the dogs from there, Debra and Jennel also walked/ran with Anamaria and Sophia to Orchard Park and back, stopping to play at the playground, and John stayed near the starting point to take some pictures. It was a great morning for a later run/walk ~ so different in winter. Beautiful. Sophia wasn’t into the run but does look adorable even when testing her lung power and Anamaria was very chatty and also adorable. Some of us didn’t get up until 8 so were not able to make it to Cameron, not having read the email. After the run/walk, Edie, Christina, John, Ross, Flora, Debra and Rachel went to Starbucks for coffee. Christina, FEEP, filled us in on her investigations for things to do on Whidbey Island. Sounds like fun! The crazy dippers, Flora and Rachel were all dried out and warmed up. Rachel running sans jacket, thinking it was much warmer than her previous day’s adventures into the icy deep.

Nine Cruisers met at and ran from Cameron Centre Wednesday. Minnesota Rachel, Rod, Sherian, RA Edie, Flora, Larry, Libby, Alex and Bobtoc ran west under rainy skies along the usual route using Eastlake to Arden and Greystone from Broadway to Shellmont, up the hill to Forest Grove Drive at Underhill, continued east to the Gaglardi overpass to the Beaverbrooks returning to the Centre. Time, approx 1:17, distance 9 km. The rain ceased midway through the run.

Saturday: Ten Cruisers met at and ran from the Rugby Club building at Burnaby Lake about 8.10 am on a dark, overcast Saturday morning. The ten, Rod, RA Edie, Larry, Alex, Flora, Minnesota Rachel, Eoin, Laura, Sherian, Bobtoc (and Harvey) ran their lsd route west on Sprott St or Norland Avenue, south to the Deer Lake park trails, circled Deer Lake twice, then returned to Burnaby Lake, the group having sorted itself out into three pace groups and used slightly different routes back to the Burnaby Lake parking lot. Time 1:50 to 1:54, distance 12.38 km. Light rain commenced near the end of the run.
