From Jennel: YES, last Saturday I too got swamped by THE RAIN!!! However, I still did a 1 hour run! “I’m no fair-weather runner!!!” Also, on Monday; instead of a run, I did some cross-training (step-aerobics & weight training). On Wednesday, Heather & I did a run earlier in the day (too dark at night for 2 girls running alone!) Anyhow, we ran for 1 hour along the Coquitlam River (I believe it’s called the PoCo Trail Run). Very nice. Yesterday, another day of cross-training. 1hr. (didn’t want to leave the girls home alone while I went for a run!…not old enough yet!) As much as Anamaria insists she’s a BIG GIRL!….not yet!
On Saturday, partly due to the weather, only René and Larry showed up at Cameron Centre, but decided the weather just wasn’t up to standard so we called it a day. Larry was in civvies due to a mixup made by him regarding keys to his parents’ place, where most of his stuff is while renovations are being finished at his residence. (One of those things you just have to laugh about! My error resulted in no access to computer, sorry for the missed updates this week.)
Bobtoc and Marie, and Edie, Linda, Christina and John are back from San Luis Obispo and San Francisco. Fabulous weather in California.
Alex ran part of the Whistler Relay yesterday but we’re not sure which team he was on or what part of the relay he ran. Alex, if you could let myself or Bobtoc know we’ll post your results.
On Wednesday, Larry, Alex, René, Rod and Libby took advantage of a break in the rain and enjoyed the mild weather. Rod and Libby walked to Eastlake and Underhill and back, 4.5 km in 52 minutes. Rod is looking and feeling better. He welcomes all who would like to come out and walk. Alex, Larry and René ran the Forest Grove route, starting from Stoney Creek school, across the Gaglardi overpass and you know the rest. Close to 7 km in 45 minutes.
From Chris Keeling: The Energizer Night Run was great. It was the first time doing it for me. Registration included a headlamp and neon yellow technical shirt, both were worn by most in the race. It was neat to be running around Stanley Park with a stream of lights and glowing yellow runners front and back. My time was 1:09, pacing my girlfriend who is just getting into running. We didn’t get rained on at all!
