On Monday, Laura and Edie were joined by Bob, a new runner to our area.  We ran along Stony Creek to North Road, along Chapman and Robinson to Ebert and then back to Cameron Street TO CROSS AT THE LIGHT.  The construction has made us law abiding runners, no longer able to jaywalk on North Road.  The night was cooler than we’ve experienced in quite a while, so perfect for running.  Bob and Laura did 6.6k and I did a little less and we were out about 51 minutes.  It was nice to do one of our regular routes and check out the changes along the way.  We missed the other Cruisers – no new Canadians, but had a great run.  I lived down to my name, Rear Admiral.

Seven Cruisers met at and ran from the Centre Wednesday 6:30 to the Nature House on the Burnaby Lake north trail.   Tracy, Bob Nadon, Rene, Larry, Libby, Laura, Bobtoc enjoyed a cool evening, just right for the run.  Tracy and Bob led the pack.  Some finished in 51 minutes with Laura and Bobtoc, shepherded by Laura, finishing in 1:06.

Seven Cruisers met at the Burnaby Lake parking lot Saturday am on the very best day of the year; cool for the runners, sunshine, nature at peace.  The seven , five to do a long slow distance run, started out together on the Sperling spur to the “new” trail to the north, then headed on it west to the Central Valley Greenway via Still Creek Avenue through south of Broadway to Rupert St where Rene and Larry turned back to the Lake, their total time and distance being 1:30 and 13.2 km, with Alex, Christina, Edie, Sherian and Bobtoc continuing to the Grandview diversion alongside the Skytrain route, onto Great Northern Way, 2nd Avenue to Granville Island passing through the Olympic Village, onto the Granville St bridge south approach, north to Mainland and Beatty St to BC Place thence to the Skytrain station at Beatty and Georgia for the ride home.  Time and distance, 2:47 and 18.4 km.  Kudos to Edie for choosing the route.

Rob Stagg qualified and his registration has been accepted for the Boston Marathon 2013.  Rob said he plans to run it!  Congratulations Rob.  Be home in time for the salmonberries please, Nancy.  Ed. note:  Rob won’t take THAT long to finish.
