Monday’s run reported by Edie:
R A Edie, Alex, Laura and Sherian ran the Forest Grove, route, distance 6.7k in 58 minutes. We thought it might be slippery by the golf course with all the leaves. It was quite a nice night with stars out and a little fog in places. Good night for running . Bobtoc started the run but pulled out 2:19 into the run with pain in the upper left leg.
R A Edie, Alex, Larry (wearing shorts) and Bobtoc ran the Forest Grove route, distance 6.7k in 67 minutes on a relatively clear and cool +3C evening Wednesday.
Saturday’s activites:
Eight runners: Alex, RA Edie, Larry, Laura, Laurie, Rick, Bobtoc, oh and Flora , in Robstagguage on a “freakin’ cold ” -5C morning, ran a route devised by Edie to minimize potential black ice hazards, using paths and trails instead of asphalt surfaces. The route consisted of the Stoney Creek trail to the footbridge accessing the Stoney Creek elementary school grounds, the Gaglardi pedestrian overpass to Forest Grove Drive, around the bend on the Drive to Cinnamon Drive, north and west to the lane behind the Forest Grove elementary school through to the path parallel to Shellmont, west crossing Greystone onto the footpath in the golf course, continued west to the trail leading back to Greystone to Duthie Avenue, then reversed direction to Greystone, Broadway, Underhill, Eastlake, the Beaverbooks, Cameron Street back to the Centre; distance and time 11.7 km, 1:47. Rick Davidson continued his run. His add on is as follows:
Thanks for the run today.
I’m training for the First Half, as well as The Lost Dutchman Marathon, which runs on February 17th near Phoenix, Arizona. Shirley Sywak will be joining me for the First Half, and both Shirley and Debra Colvin (both TELUS runners) will be joining me for the Lost Dutchman.
I finished my run today at 12:10, so I was out for a full 4 hours– final distance unknown, but I’m guessing somewhere around 28 km.
Rick
