On Saturday morning, Len, Miriam (with Jax), René, Alex, Kevin, RA Edie and Larry walked down Cameron, crossed the overpass leading to the trail between Eastlake and Government (which is still open despite the pipeline pre-construction), and along Joe’s trail to North Road, and returned the same way. It was still chilly and there was some ice along the trail but there was no precipitation, so it was a great day to be out.
René jogged most of the route, his time about 1h30. The rest of the group’s time was 1h55. Distance for all was 8 km.
From Jennel: Jennel has a new fitness trainer…daughter Sofia. They were at the gym on Saturday and Sofia was controlling the speed on the treadmill! WOW! If you need a good workout, give her a call!!! She did interval training with the speed! GREAT, but WOW, am I ever sore this morning!

I ended up running 3 laps and some interval training in there too. By the time I got home, I ran 21.51 km. Yeah! So I’m running along Town Centre and I feel a swoosh beside my head. It was a GOOSE zipping by me! A lady said it must like my Hat! So Great!?! I wear bright colours so the Cars can see me and not hit me…..Not for the Geese to target me!?! Can’t win!?!
On Thursday, Jennel & Heather met at Town Centre and walked around to various locations. 14 km total. Good walk, good catch-up! We had snow up here, so decided to walk instead! Easier to talk too!!! LOL

Those will be our “Virtual” 1/2 Marathon shirts that we will run in May. We plan to run a 1/2 Marathon together in May sometime, not doing the BMO this year…we’ll just do our own 21 km 🙂 *now it’s in writing…so we have to do it!!!

Lots of runners and walkers were using the park and trails! Some of the group enjoyed ice cream from the Rocky Point ice cream shop after the walk – still as good as ever.
From Jennel: Saturday afternoon, Jennel & Tony & their dogs walked around Town Centre two times around the outskirts (3/4 of Lafarge Lake) while their daughters had swim lessons at City Centre Aquatic Complex across the street. Works out perfect! On nice days, Jennel & Tony walk, on rainy days we go to the gym at the Aquatic Centre. Which is a beautiful gym…it’s completely brand new! The walk may as well be a run for me….keeping up with Tony’s walking speed is a slow jog on my part. He is a foot taller than me!!! LOL
