We were lucky on Saturday morning to be out walking while it wasn’t raining! Edie, Debbie, René, Alex, Kevin, Flora and Larry walked along the Stoney Creek trail and saw lots of chum salmon making their way up the creek to spawn. It was great to see the salmon return! We took the trail to North Road and went up to Chapman, where René bid adieu and returned to Cameron Centre along the trail. The rest of the group went along Robinson to Cottonwood, then returned via Cottonwood to Willoughby and back to the Centre. Lots of townhouse construction on Cottonwood, not much green space though.
Our distance was about 9 km and our time was just under 2 hours. René’s distance was about 5 km and time about 1 hour. Edie, Flora and Larry had brunch at IHOP after.
From Jennel: On Friday, Jennel and her dogs dressed appropriately in rain gear and RAN (her first run in weeks!) around the inner part of town centre (Lafarge Lake) and back home in the SUN!!! “Murphys Law!” We dressed for rain, and not one drop!!! LOL Around Lafarge and back is approximately 8 km.
Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone! It will be dark and probably rainy for the trick-or-treaters so be careful if you’re out there driving…or trick-or-treating…

Our distance was 4.5 km and our time was 1h25.
From Jennel: Jennel is walking regularly at the Coquitlam Crunch with her dogs, and she is swimming too! Getting ready for her half marathon in May.

On Monday morning Alex, Edie and Larry met at the parking lot at Kensington Rink and walked to Fell Ave. and into the trail that goes from Kensington Ave. behind Capitol Hill and along Burrard Inlet to Confederation Park, walked a lap around the track at the park and returned the same way, stopping off at Tim Horton’s for beverages along our way back to Kensington Rink. We had our beverages and pumpkin tarts courtesy of Edie – thanks Edie!
t was a beautiful day, a bit more like autumn, and there were more leaves on the ground and yellowing of the leaves on the trees.
Our distance was 8 km and our time was just over 2 hours.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

It was a summery warm temperature but we sure noticed the early sunset at around 7 pm! Time for wearing lights and reflective gear.
We saw Ivan on Beaverbrook as we were starting out, and we chatted with him for awhile. Ivan says hello to all the Cruisers. Edie walked 10 km earlier in the day.

On Saturday morning Kevin, Alex, Larry, René, and Liane walked from Rocky Point trail to the beach, then along Alderside to Ioco Road, then returned to the parking lot. It was a glorious sunny morning! Distance for Kevin, Alex, Larry and Liane was 10 km, and for René was about 12 km as he ran about a third of the route then circled back to rejoin Larry and Liane. René, Larry and Liane’s time was 1h55, while Alex and Kevin walked the same route but went to the pier on their way back before rejoining the group at the ice cream shop, their time 2h22. Flora walked on the trail to the beach and back to join us at the ice cream shop. The ice cream and coffee were great as usual!
Len, Miriam and Flora cycled for the Ride for Refuge in the afternoon.
My apologies to Kevin and Glenn for mistaking their walk route on Wednesday evening. They both walked up North Road to Chapman with the rest of the group so their distance was the same as the group’s distance of 5.1 km. Also, Edie stopped by to say hello to us on Wednesday evening, but did not walk with us, having walked earlier in the day.
