On Saturday morning Edie, Kevin, Liane, Len and Miriam with Jax, Rod, Hazra, and Larry met at the Centennial Park parking lot on Burnaby Mountain and walked on the trail that leads to University Boulevard and on to SFU, and into the campus along the main mall, the academic quadrangle, viewed the shops and condos along HIgh Road, the condos on University Crescent, where the boulevards were nicely treed, which was nice to see, then we circled back to High Road, stopped for refreshments at A&W, then continued back the same way to Centennial Park and viewed the rose garden – in full bloom now – and took in the spectacular view of the inlet.
Our distance was 7.15 km (according to Edie’s tracker) and our walk time was about 1h45.
From Flora: Flora and Ross walked from their home to Rona in Coquitlam, their distance 7.5 km and overall time of 2h26. According to Flora, the rose garden on Poirier is also in beautiful form.

On a very warm Monday evening Edie, Sandy, Liane, Brigitte, Hazra, Rod, their grandson Murphy, Brenda, Glenn, newcomer Lorraine, and Larry walked from the mall and stayed in the shade as much as possible as we walked along Beaverbrook to the Stoney Creek trail. We walked about 1 km into the trail and came across a large fallen tree that was roped off, so we detoured, using a back trail to the Stoney Creek elementary school, and re-entered the Stoney Creek trail from the school trail, and continued to North Road, then returned the same way.
Fortunately the trail was in the shade for virtually the whole way! Our distance was about 6.5 km and our time was about 85 minutes.

On Saturday morning Edie, Shiraz, Miriam, Len and Jax, and Larry met at the Cariboo Shopping Centre parking lot and walked along North Road to Joe’s trail and enjoyed the shade on that route, as it was already warming up outside, and returned the same way, our distance 6.9 km, we shall say 7 km (thanks Shiraz for the stat!) and our time was about 90 minutes.
Afterwards we had brunch at Jimmy’s restaurant at the shopping centre and were joined by Flora and René, who had done the Park Run (5 km) at Mundy Park, and also by Eoin and Laura, who had walked the trails in Mundy Park.
From Jennel: On Friday Heather and Jennel walked 10km !!!! Not meaning to go that far, but they walked from Heather’s to the library but for some reason it was closed. From there they walked to Superstore area where there is a nice coffee shop, had a coffee, then walked back to Heather’s home. 9.88 km…close enough to 10.
