On Wednesday evening it was another big turnout (yay!) as Edie, Liane, Brigitte, Kevin, Hazra, Rod, Brenda, Glenn, René, Lorraine, and Larry walked from the mall to the Stoney Creek trail, which was shaded and a bit cooler away from the rather warm evening. We all walked to North Road at various speeds, but all finished within 45 minutes. Some of us went in the mall and enjoyed the air conditioning for a while after the walk.

On Saturday morning Edie, Liane, Rod, Kevin, and Larry met at the Port Moody rec centre and walked in Rocky Point Park, going to Alderside, from which Edie, Liane, and Rod went on Alderside to Ioco Road and back to the rec centre, where Rod finished, his distance about 5 km, and Edie and Liane then continued to Rocky Point Park and had ice cream with Kevin and Larry, who had walked there instead of going to Ioco. The group then walked back to the rec centre.

Wednesday report from Flora, with help from Kevin:
It was a small group of 7 with just a single representative of the male persuasion 😉
Attended- Liane, Brigitte, Sandy, Edie, Kevin, Rachel and Flora.

Liane, Brigitte, Sandy and Kevin started off first. Edie and Flora waited for Rachel as she made her way from the sky train station. We caught up with the gang at Keswick Park and made it up the pickle ball hill. Then along New Life church, Brunette Fraser trail, Eastlake Park and Bell Park. At Salish Court, a stand off ensued between the Cruisers and a family of geese walking in the opposite direction was our decoy who then was chased by the geese. We thanked him, left him to fend for himself and quickly walked past. Once back we enjoyed cherries.

Duration/ Distance- 50 min for Liane and Brigitte and 60 min for the rest of us; distance of 5 km.

Thanks Flora (and Kevin) !

On a hot Monday evening (29 C), Liane, Brenda, Glenn, Rod, Edie and Brigitte braved the allegedly bear infested Stoney Creek for a much needed reprieve from the heat.  No bears were found, but the fallen tree has finally been removed and the trail is now open.
