On Saturday morning Hazra, Rod and Larry met at the Burnaby Mountain golf course, and although the weather was grim earlier in the morning, by the time we started out on our walk the rain had lessened to a drizzle, then stopped, so most of our walk was without rain, as we walked through Woodbrook, Augusta, Kitchener to Duthie, the urban trail to Kensington shopping centre, then back the same way, stopped into Sungiven Foods, then back to the golf course.
Our distance was about 7 km and time was about 1h15. Meanwhile, Flora jogged 5.26 km in a time of 43 minutes with the Fit First group at Christine Sinclair Centre. Edie did a walking tour of Chinatown.
From Jennel: On the weekend, Jennel walked up the Coquitlam crunch trail from Panorama, then laps around the track at Bramblewood, to the dog park with the dogs, then back home, distance of 5 km. Then on Monday morning a hike with the dogs on a trail west of her house.

On Saturday morning Kevin, Liane, and Larry met at Queen’s Park and walked down to Royal Ave. and through Tipperary Park, which was a very nice shady park with a couple of ponds, then wound our way through the boulevards, eventually turning onto 5th St. and 6th Ave. where the Rocky Point ice cream shop is.
We arrived there near 9:45 a.m. but the shop didn’t open until 10:30 a.m., so we went to Waves for coffee first, then back for ice cream. Priorities, right? Then back to Queen’s Park and a walk through the rose garden.
Our distance was about 6.5 km and our walk time was about 1h30.

On Wednesday evening Hazra, Rod, Brenda, Glenn, Kevin, Sandy, and Larry walked from the mall along Beaverbrook up to and across the Gaglardi overpass to Forest Grove and south down to Production Way, while Sandy and Brenda walked up the trails parallel to Forest Grove and rejoined the rest of the group on Production Way; from there to Eastlake, which was closed to car traffic from Production Way to Beaverbrook due to late night filming of a TV series, but we were still permitted to walk along the sidewalk, and continued through Eastlake Park to Cameron to Erickson and back to the mall.
Our distance was about 5.5 km and our time was about 1h10. We took advantage of the daylight as much as we could, although dusk was already in by the end of our trek.

On Saturday morning Liane, Edie, Kevin, and Larry met at the Port Moody Rec Centre and walked our usual route along Alderside to Ioco Road. Larry and Edie turned back early and Liane and Kevin continued and we made our way to Rocky Point Park and the ice cream shop. After the ice cream we went to the shoreline trail bridge, which opened earlier in the morning, and it extends all the way across the inlet from where the old crossing was to rejoin the trail at the far end. Trail walking is possible again! We also sampled the donut holes that were being given out by Sweet Talk Bakery at the opening ceremonies.
Distance walked was about 10 km, a bit more for Kevin and Liane, and our walk time was about 2 hours. Meanwhile, Flora jogged with the Fit First group out of Christine Sinclair Centre, using the Kensington route.
Flora reports that there were about 200 runners who attended and were in various distance groups. Flora did about 7 km.
On Sunday Edie and Larry walked the 5 km route at the Terry Fox Run and Walk at Rocky Point and enjoyed the light rain.

Hopefully the air quality will improve over the next few days as the weather changes and there is a possibility of rain.
Be careful if you are exercising. Be sure to drink plenty of waler/liquids.

On Monday morning Edie, Kevin, and Larry met at Confederation Park, did a lap around the track and then walked in the trail that leads to Second Narrows Bridge. About 1.5 km into the trail, it was blocked by a fence – the same block fence that was there a couple of years ago. Evidently the bridge at that spot still hasn’t been fixed. So we walked back and went up Carleton Ave. to Hastings St. and had coffee/tea at JJ Bean’s, then walked along Albert St. back to Confederation Park.
Our distance was about 5.5 km and our walk time was about 1h45. It was nice weather, a bit of cloud and slightly cooler temperature.
Flora walked-jogged the Park Run at Mundy Park.
