There was no walk on Wednesday evening due to the rain.
From Jennel: Also on Wednesday, Jennel walk-jogged down the Coquitlam crunch to Shoppers Drug Mart and back, her total distance 15 km. Yes, it was raining and she got wet, but her dedication is admirable!

Larry, Laura and Eoin walked to the intersection of Beaverbrook and Eastlake, their distance about 3 km; Kevin, Glenn, and Edie walked to Eastlake and Production Way, their distance about 4.5 km; and Rod, Brenda, Liane and René walked almost to Eastlake and Underhill, their distance about 5.5 km.
We all finished our walks within 1h15. I may not have got the groups totally accurate, sorry if I have mixed them up.

On Saturday morning Edie, Liane, Miriam, Len with Jax, and Larry met at Rocky Point and walked to the Port Moody Rec Centre, where Larry and Edie rested for a while, while the others continued to April Road, then returned to Rocky Point and met up again with Larry and Edie. Our walking time was 1h16 and our distances were 10 km for Liane, Miriam and Len, and about 5 km for Edie and Larry.
We met up for ice cream of course and chatted with Flora, who joined us after her 5 km walk-jog with the Fit First group at Christine Sinclair Centre, and with Eoin and Laura, who had done their own walk.
From Jennel: Also on Saturday morning, Jennel walked down the Coquitlam crunch and ran down stairs to St. John’s and Murray St. where the Port Moody wine store is, got some wine, returned home, on the way went past the dog park where her dogs’ friends were, and got her dogs and took them there! Distance was at least 12 km.

No details on Wednesday’s walk but Edie, Brenda, Glenn, Liane, Kevin, Sandy, and Flora walked from Lougheed Mall.
From Jennel: On Monday Jennel ran/walked 11 km up Forest Parkway and around the corner making her way back on David and all the way to Johnson Road and back. She had her dogs with her for part of the way then dropped them off to get more of a run in. The plan is to train with Heather for a half marathon in October. Best of luck Jennel and Heather!

On Saturday morning Rod, Liane, René, Shiraz, Edie and Larry walked from the Burnaby Mountain golf course along Augusta, Kitchener, Cliff Ave., Union, the urban trail to Sherlock, then to Duthie and back to the golf course for some coffee/tea/water.
Most of the group walked about 5.5 km in a time of 1h20, while Liane and René zipped up to the outdoor Kensington pool to see the steam rise, their distance about 7 km in the same time as the rest of the group.
Meanwhile Flora jogged 5 km in just under 30 minutes with the Fit First gang at Christine Sinclair Centre. It was a beautiful sunny morning with a bit of ice on the roads so we had to be careful.

There was no walk on Monday evening due to the heavy rain.
On Saturday Len, with Jax, Miriam, Edie, and Flora walked the streets of New West in the vicinity of Queen’s Park, distance 4.2 km and time 1h11 thanks to Len’s stats. The group had coffee at Waves on Sixth Ave. and Sixth St. as the Rocky Point ice cream shop didn’t open until 10:30 am (darn!). Fortunately it did not rain during the walk.
Thanks to Edie for her report!

On Wednesday evening Brenda, Glenn, Kevin, Edie, Flora, Brigitte, Liane, Alex, and Larry walked down Cameron through Eastlake Park, and along Eastlake to Underhill, then returned the same way, distance about 5.5 km in a time of about 1h20. Larry, Edie, Flora and Alex walked part way, a distance of 3.5 km. We all got soaked on the way back as the skies opened and treated us to a mixture of hail, sleet and rain – it was ugly out there!
Some of the group went into the mall after and Flora brought some cake to celebrate Kevin’s birthday, and delivered some cake to him after that as he was among the group that got too soaked to stay and celebrate. Thanks for the treats Flora!
From Jennel: On Monday Jennel and Heather walked 10 km and on Wednesday Jennel walked 8 to 10 km. They’re thinking of a half marathon in October.
