Addendum for Saturday’s morning run February 9: I neglected to describe fully Alex Lau’s run. In addition to the 12 km he ran with Edie, Laura, Laurie, Sherian and Bobtoc, before the 12km run he had run 3.5 km, and an additional 3.5 km run AFTER the 12 km run, a total of 19 km in his training for the 2013 BMO Vancouver Marathon.
From Jennel reporting her Monday February 9 “run”. Went to PMRC and it was closed early (of course being Family Day). So, I then went to Coquitlam Mall and did a brisk walk inside for an hour. The Mall was closed, so it was just me and the janitors this time!!! ha! ha!
Three Cruisers met at Cameron Centre Monday February 9 on a cool and dry evening. The Cenre was to close at 7:00 pm therefore it was decided to do a short run/walk. RA Edie and canine April, with Laura and Bobtoc ran to the pedestrian overpass, continued around the Forest Grove Drive bend until 20 minutes elapsed then reversed direction back to the Centre. Time and distance, 40 minutes, 3.6 km.
Wednesday February 11 run/walks:
Edie, Jennel, Larry and Bobtoc met at the Centre, Edie and Larry to walk, and Jennel and Bobtoc to run. The four walked to the Burquitlam Funeral Chapel on North Road and Ebert before the four carried on with their respective activities. Edie and Larry walked to Sprice and Hailey, then returned via Cottonwood, back to Sprice and followed Ebert and Sullivan back to Cameron. IEdie forgot to notice the time. Jennel and Bobtoc started also started their run at Ebert, east to Porter, to Foster, continuing east to Gatensbury, north to Como Lake Ave, west to Porter, south to Winslow, west to Blue Mountain Road, south to King Albert Avenue, backtracked north to Foster, south to Ebert through to North Road onto Sullivan back to the Centre, distance 8.2 km, time 1.17, plus approximately 1 kilometer to the Funeral Chapel, and per Jennel’s GPS gizmo, burned 424 calories. The four experienced the best night of the year so far; mild temperature, no precip.
Rod ran on his own Wednesday morning. He reports:
,
Won’t be out tonight, I have a previous arrangement which I can’t get out of.Went out from home this morning up through Lake City and back through Forest Grove (Adele was in her “office” so I stopped or a chat and tried to persuade her to come out and walk).
Distance just under 8 km and time 59 minutes.
Coast to Coast group:
Laurie, Christina, Sue, Sarah, Larry and Edie walked 17.5k today in about 3.5 hours in perfect weather and had lunch at Waterfront before catching the Sky Train home. It was a great walk. Next group walk will be PoCo Trail 27k on March 2nd. Edie says there are two spots still open for the Coast to Coast, if anyone is interested in joining us in June.
From Cameron Centre:
Rod, Rene and Bobtoc I walked from the Centre at 8 bells., did 7 km, 1:15, the route being the Forest Grove Drive frontwards, i.e.,Cameron St, Beaverbrook, Eastlake, Underhill, east on FGD, ped overpass, and return. You know the stuff. Rod was to play field hockey in the pm, and Rene has another injury, a groin pull. The trio basked in no-rain, some overcast skies,+4C weather conditions, ideal for the walk.
