Monday’s run, solo, by Laura.  Here is her report:
Hi, Bob!  I ran on my own!  Left Cameron Centre at 6:40 pm, ran up to the top of Cameron, along Ebert, then Foster, to Como Lake.  Tripped on a root on the path leading into Como Lake, fell flat-out, dusted myself off, went once around the lake, back down Foster, Ebert, Cameron, arriving at the Centre at 7:50 pm.  Was a nice night for a run, not too hot.  Laura
All the other Cruisers stayed home in their PJs drinking coffee!

The dog days of summer are here.

Wednesday’s walk/run:
Larry, Laura, Tracy and Bobtoc showed up for mild exercise Wednesday.  The four walked/ran west, the destination for Larry, Laura and Bobtoc being Eastlake to Production Way, north to the path-trail heading west to the Broadway- Underhill corner, then south on Underhill back to Eastlake and return to the Centre.  Tracy and Bobtoc walked to Production Way on Eastlake, from which Tracy retraced her steps back to home, since she is recovering from plantar fasciitis, wishing to use trail rather than hard surface.  The remaining trio walked/ran close to an hour on the warm and humid evening.
Jennel also ran Wednesday evening in Coquitlam with a local running partner who is another young mom.  Here is a portion of Jennel’s report:  Well, I did it!  Heather & I ran for 2 hour & 4 min. to be exact.  Ran from my house in Westwood Plateau to Shaughnessey  &  David, then ran the perimeter of Lafarge Lake, then RAN solo ALL the way BACK home UPHILL!!!  (Libby would be proud!)  6:00 – 8:04  (still daylight!)   Anyhow, I’m POOPED to say the least!  Ed. note: the exclamation marks are all Jennel’s.

Saturday morning run:
Alex,Larry, Bobtoc with Harvey ran from the Poco RR on the Coquitlam River trail north of the Lougheed Highway through to Pipeline and David and return.  The trail was the right choice for the day; plenty of shade, which ameliorated the high temperature evident even at 7:40 am.  A number of Cruisers were out of town in this holiday time, including Edie who is in Europe on a river cruise, and Minnesota Rachel who is in her home city.  The runners today managed to squeeze into 1:40, a one hour 9.5 km EZ run.  After the run they debriefed in a Poco eatery.
From RA Edie in Europe:
I’ll be in Vienna so will miss Saturday’s run.  We went through a lock at sunrise today – it was amazing.  Highly recommend this trip.  Tonight a concert in Vienna.  Just passing some swans.  Had a beer in Budapest that I didn’t like, but the beer on the boat is good as is the wine.  Life is good.  Edie  (Edit. note:–highly improbable there is that Budweiser stuff in Europe! ) See separate email and photo from Edie.
FP Edie went to the Budweiser source in the Czech Republic.   The original Budweiser is protected by the government and Americans can only sell their beer as Bud.  The Americans took Budweiser to court and lost!  Several of the tour guides mentioned Budweiser in their information giving.  Who knew that one of the Frau Princesses would be listening and passing the information back to eagerly waiting Cruisers at home.
