RA Edie, Gi-Nyun, Rod and Bobtoc welcomed Leo Liu and daughter Lotus back from Beijing.  The six opted for a walk rather than a run due to the 20 km distance run by some Cruisers Saturday morning.  The route for the walk included the Stoney Creek trail to the elementary school grounds, north west up to and across the Gaglardi pedestrian overpass, Forest Grove Drive to the Forest Grove Elementary School, north to the lane behind the school, east along the lane to Cinnamon Drive, continuing east along the trail parallel to Forest Grove Drive, back to the overpass continuing on the Beaverbrooks back to the Centre.  Time, 1:21, distance 6.3 km.

Six Cruisers scaled the Coquitlam Crunch  Wednesday 6:45 pm, and met Rachel along the route since she came direct from her place of work in Port Coquitlam.  Tracy led Edie, Flora, Alex, Libby and Bobtoc from the soccer field on Runnel drive north up the powerline hill  west of the Eagle Ridge subdivision, close to Panorma Drive north of David Avenue and return.   The seven were treated to views west and south to Burnaby Mountain and the Fraser River.  The trail was steep and graveled  for the first part with a lesser grade and some paved asphalt in some parts further north.  Signs along the way advised of 500,000 volts carried in the power lines, also potential static-like shocks, harmless, that may be experienced.  Comforting signs indeed.  Total distance up and return was about 5.5 km, time, approx 1:45.  The weather was cool, visability great.  The location was a welcome change from our usual haunts.  Thanks to Edie for the suggestion of tackling the Coquitlam Crunch.  A few debriefed at Tim Horton’s after the hike.  Special mention of Alex in tackling the Crunch only a few days after running the rugged Edge to Edge Marathon last Sunday.

Four Cruisers met at and ran from Rocky Point Saturday on a rainy but mild morning.  The four: Alex, Larry, Rod and Bobtoc kept to the asphalt pavement on Murray Street then ventured into the park area continuing on the paved paths through to Orchard Park on the north shore thence to April Road and return; distance 9.1 k, time between 1:15 and 1:25 to the pier.  The route was busy; several runners in groups or singles.  A few houses on Alderside Road on available for sale; some speculation within the four runners on which of the houses would be suitable for a clubhouse.
