Leo Liu and daughter Lotus, a grade 3 pupil at Cameron Elementary School, joined RA Edie, Alex, Rod and Bobtoc Monday on a spring evening to run from Cameron Centre.  The six ran west on the usual route toward what we call the IGA corner.  Leo and Lotus ran to Eastlake and Underhill before returning, their total distance 4:2 km .  Alex departed from John Stanton’s book which called for a 6 km race pace; instead ran, including warm up and warm down kms before and after his run, approximately 12 km.  Rod ran to the IGA corner, returning to the Centre and continued on the parking lot to bring his run to 10 km, his time 1:17 which I am sure included time immediately after locking his car door upon arrival at the Centre.  Edie and Bobtoc ran not quite to the IGA corner, their distance 8:5 km, arriving at the Centre within a minute or two of Rod’s time.  The six enjoyed a cool, dry, daylight evening.

Wednesday’s runs:

Rod solo’d Wednesday morning, covering 10:5 km.  His route was the usual: west toward IGA corner but headed into the playground area near the golf course.  On the return, he headed up the Shellmont hill, Forest Grove Drive, the overpass, and you know the rest.

Larry, Libby and Bobtoc ran west, tackling the Shellmont hill, continuing on the lane north of Forest Grove Drive to the pedestrian overpass, meeting Edie and her two canine Cruisers on the Drive as they walked the Forest Grove loop;  then the four returned to the Centre.  The foursome enjoyed the warm no precip evening, probably the best of the year.  Time, about 1:16.
Saturday’s runs:
Five Cruisers ran from the centre for an lsd run Saturday morning under mixed clouds and sunshine, with light rain at the beginning which passed in favour of some sun, later clouds re-formed but spare the five from more rain, although a fairly heavy rain returned after our run.  RA Edie, Larry and Laurie ran our usual route west Holdom and Francis Street before returning to the Centre, distance 17.3 km and time 2:15 exclusive of the Kensington Rink pit stop.Rod and Bobtoc continued their run as far west as Alpha Avenue before returning, their distance 20 km and time 2:50 exclusive of the obligatory pit stop at Kensington Rink.
