Five Cruisers ran Wednesday on a bonus no precip evening. Flora, Libby, Larry, Rod and Bobtoc ran west using the same route as Monday, i.e., to Shellmont, up the hill to Underhill, east on Forest Grove Drive to the pedestrian overpass to the Beaverbrooks back to the Centre. Time and distance, 70 minutes and 8.6 km.
Friday March 30 run:
Cruisers OFs Rod and Bobtoc ran Friday morning under no precip skies, a bonus day on which rain was predicted. Their route was west to the Kensington Ice Rink for a pit and water stop, then continuing west on Frances Street to Beta Avenue, with the return same route. A highlight for Bobtoc was a conversation with the mail man delivering on Frances Street near Howard Avenue. The mail man recognized Bobtoc as a run leader eons ago at the Eileen Dailly Sun Run training course. He and his wife Jacqeline completed the course, from which Jacqeline continued her interest in running, leading her to bigger and better things; half marathons, full marathons, qualification for the Boston Marathon, and successrul completion of it. It made my day. Distance covered: 20 km, time, 2:50 plus 10 for pit and mail man stuff.

Saturday’ morning’s run report courtesy of RA Edie:

Bring on Whidbey Island! Flora, Rachel and I completed our 20k run from Cameron Centre to Waterfr
ont in about 2:57. Bob saw off Eoin, Laura, Flora, Rachel and Edie, who ran the Sky Train route starting out at 8:15 SHARP from Cameron Centre. We found our happy pace and kept reasonably together chatting along the way. (The mountains were beautiful on the way out and totally socked in on the way home.) Eoin outdid his expectations of the morning by going all the way to Commercial before taking the sky train to Waterfront; Laura ran all the way to Science World before taking the sky train to Waterfront; the other three ran to Waterfront to meet the first two for coffee before taking the sky train back to Lougheed Mall. The rain started while we were having coffee which made Rachel’s day. It was a great morning. On the walk from Lougheed Mall to Cameron we waved to Sherian as she passed by driving. Driving? She should have been running with us.
