Daylight Saving Time gave Tracy Monday evening the opportunity to lead Laura, Leo, Flora, Edie with April and Bobtoc onto the Stoney Creek trail for the
first time in 2012. The route was to North Road, north to Chapman Avenue, east to Robinson, continuing south to Ebert Avenue, then west back to the Centre. Time out, 55 minutes, distance 7.5 km. Rain ceased a few minutes after the start, therefore the five were able to stay reasonably dry.
Follow-up of Alex’s lsd run Saturday: Alex advised his total elapsed time was 3:15.
Four Cruisers plus April, canine Cruiser, ventured out Wednesday on a cool, damp, dreary evening. Laura, Flora, Edie with canine April and Bobtoc (no Harvey) ran to Forest Grove
Drive via the Gaglardi pedestrian overpass, west on the Drive to Underhill, south on Underhill to Eastlake to return. Time out 1:02, distance approx 7.5 km.
Laurie and Edie met Laura, Eoin and John before the run and had our photo taken. I forgot my number at home so didn’t get a time but Laurie and I stayed together and ran the 5k straight through. We lost Laura in the crowd. It was a nice route from the Stanley Park Pavilion to the entrance of the park, then a sharp turn back to the Seawall to Lumberman’s Arch then a left turn through the park to the starting point at the Pavilion, mostly uphill from Lumberman’s to the finish line. Laurie and I bought a beer and saved seats for our corunners, who Laurie located while procuring cupcakes for us. So we had celebrated St. Paddy’s Day in fine style with beer and cupcakes. No wind, no rain, nice day for a run with a lot of funny looking people. Life is good.
Rachel and Flora were at the Green Sock St Patrick’s day run at Burnaby Lake. Rachel did a 5km walk and Flora did the 7 miles. Run went really well. Flora felt good and not too tired at the end. Her time 1:23:59.
