Monday: Two cruisers, Rene and Rod braved the +5 conditions to do the 7km Forest Grove in 48 minutes. The Maui people declined to run in such cold conditions even though they did come out to see us at the beginning, along with a welcome visit from Adele.

Nine Cruisers met at and ran from the Centre Wednesday evening on which the temperature was comfortable, even for the Kihei Cruisers, and the weather dry. Tracy, Rene,Larry, Sherian, Flora, Libby, Edie, Rachel Lindquist and Bobtoc split into three groups, one running to Forest Grove Drive via the pedestrian overpass then to Shellmont, down to Greystone to meet the second group who ran the usual route using Eastlake to Greystone to Shellmont, then running together back up Shellmont, Forest Grove Drive, the overpass, etc. Not sure what route Sherian and Flora used, however all groups returned, distances varying from 7 to 9 km, times 70 to 75 minutes.

Rod ran from home up to the old IGA, then back to Shellmont, up Shellmont and back the normal way through Forest Grove past Adele’s office. Time out 1h18. Distance 11 km.

Seven Cruisers ran from the Centre Saturday morning in zero temperature, making for slippery srufaces until the morning sun warmed and dried the route surfaces. Rene, Rod, Flora, Edie, Laura, Rachel and Bobtoc headed west to Eastlake, Broadway, Greystone to Duthie Avenue, where Rene turned back. Rod, Edie and Flora turned back at Curtis and Sherlock Avenue, their time and distance 1:48 and 12 km respectively, with Laura, Rachel and Bobtoc continuing to and returning from the Kensington Rink, time and distance 2:29 including pit stop and observing a hockey practice, and 16 km respectively. All seven enjoyed the sunshine, none missing ice or snow. Ot\
