On Monday evening seven Cruisers met at Cameron Centre, Val went to a fitness class, Bob came to see us off and the rest of us went for a run. Edie and Flora ran to Eastlake and Underhill before turning back. Time out for Laura, Alex and Rod 1h00, distrance 7 km. Went up Underhill and back the usual way through Forest Grove. As we left Cameron, the salting/sanding trucks were in the parking lot. We might have to be a bit careful onWed. night. Tonight was a mild night with no rain and a

light wind.

Before we set off, Bob reminded us to do Bobturns and stick together so no one runs alone.
Wednesday: Nine Cruisers, Alex, Rachel, Libby, Laura, Shiraz, Sherian, Rod, Rene and Edie welcomed Laura’s coworker Katie on Wednesday night. Katie plans to run in the Sun Run. The 10 runners ran to Underhill and Broadway, where Sherian and Shiraz branched off to run to Meadowood and up Shellmont to rejoin the group at Forest Grove and Underhill. Sherian did most of a hill with the others. Libby, Rod, Renee, Alex and Rachel did 3 hills and Laura, Edie and Katie did partial hills before continuing back to the centre through Forest Grove. Time out 1:14 and distances were from 7k to 8.5k, depending on the route and the hills done. It was a beautiful crisp, clear night and we could see the stars. We returned with the same 10 that we set out with so it was all good.

Saturday: Three Cruisers braved the snowy weather on Saturday morning to run Joe’s Trail.
Way to go Alex, Flora and Laura. The rest of us stayed home. Bad Cruisers, Bad Cruisers…..but warm, dry Cruisers.

Messages from Maui:
1. Boot camp started yesterday. It was AWFUL. My butt is dragging.
It has to get better.

Marie and I sojour
ned for part of the day at the pool today. Happy hour was wine, taco chips with cheese melted thereon, concocted by Tracy. We may not return to YVR. Thinking of purchasing a club house, not right away since Tracy has a debit on her credit card of $16.00. Bummer. Her timing is the pits. Get after her via email; see if it makes a difference. Have to go now. Our work regime is 10 minutes, then 50 minutes break. We fought for that.

Weather here is gorgeous. Wish we could bottle it up and bring it home. Best we can do is drink wine out of a bottle.

2. Thanks Edie for your report (picture of our snow covered street). Must be that white stuff on the ground together with black ice? Hmm. Haven’t seen those kinds of things here in Paradise. So far that is. There was some of both last year on Haleakula for a few hours. Oh well. Mahalo again for your message, and Aloha. Say hello to the snowy chicks and owls in the Cruiser ranks.
