Six Cruisers met at and ran from the Centre Wednesday, starting out under light rain which ceased early on producing a mild no precip evening for the EZ 8 km route. Alex, Larry, Libby, Flora, Rod and Bobtoc ran west to Meadowood off Greystone, then east and north onto Shellmont, continued east to Underhill, south back to Eastlake and return to the Centre via Beaverbrook and Cameron Street. time 1:12 to 1:15.


Six Cruisers met at and ran from the Centre Saturday on a dry morning. Rene, Stormin/ Norman, Rod, Bobtoc , Flora and Rachel ran west; Flora and Rachel ran as far as Shellmont on Greystone before returning to the Centre, their distance 7.5 km. The other four ran to the IGA corner and back, distance 9.5 km, time for Rene and Norman circa one hour and change, and Rod and Bobtoc, 1:27. The six enjoyed the rustle of dry leaves underfoot and sunny skies overhead; not the best day of the year but perhaps the best autumn morning run of the year.

First things first: Alex Lau ran the 2nd stage of the Lions Gate Road Runners Silver Foxes Male +60 team at Whistler Saturday am. Alex reports the road-trail surfaces were slippery at the beginning of the relay event. Alex placed second in his age group. Alex’s stage time was 45.22 Rachel Fouladi ran the Whistler 50 mile ultra

finishing in 9:43:59, sixth in her age group. Wow!
On Sunday at the Boundary Bay races Minnesota Rachel Lindquist ran the 10 k, reported great weather, great organization and a great route, did her Personal Best, time 1:05:25. She’s tickled big-time! She will bring her 10k medal for show n tell Wednesday. Imagine: a medal for 10k. What next? (Editor’s note).
