Monday: It was a perfect night for running – 6 degrees, clear with a refreshing wind. Rod, Sherian, Rene, Alex, Shiraz, Edie and April ran the Forest Grove loop frontwards and Flora, Rachel and Ross ran to Underhill and Broadway and returned. All runners met at the corner of Noel and Cameron and returned to Cameron together. We did about 7k and as my watch is still running, I can’t tell you what the time was, but Rod said it was 54 minutes. Alex ran a bit further as he did numerous Bobturns. We didn’t have any kona lava java after our run, sad to say. Rod did have a shot in the arm today in preparation for his upcoming trip.

Message from Maui: Just to report we are all safe and sound here in Maui. It did rainhere on Wednesday but we didn’t arrive until Thursday afternoon. The northwest coast, where weare, was mopping up flooding after near-record rainfall. But we have had sun since so we are doing okay. Tracy and I hiked into a volcano crater today at Haleakala – awesome!

Report from Maui

We are all still alive here in South Kihei. The weather has been great and things have mostly
dried out from early January’s rain. We have been training hard with two-hour runs, then rest/walk days, and ran one hour today. No injurie
s or nagging pains to report! Tracy has been doing some biking too. The beaches are getting our attention too.

Bob picked up his race packet today and is set to go on the 15 K run on Sunday.
I will send a report on his race performance.
