Monday: Sharon and RA Edie ran the usual route to Pinehurst and Arden, and then back to Cameron. Pinehurst is the street before BurnwoodPhillips. Time out, approx. 1 hour 1 minute for 8.5k. Larry walked along Eastlake to Underhill and then back to Cameron. Time out, 50 minutes. The rain was light so it wasn’t that bad, although it was almost dark by the time the runners returned to Cameron Centre. Time to get out the reflective clothing. Bobtoc saw the intrepid three off, then returned home to rehab his wounded leg.

Wednesday: Wednesday’s walk/run: Thanks to correspondents Larry, Edie and Norman for the following reports:

Susan an

d Larry only walked out to Production Way and Eastlake and back because of the thunder, thinking the rain was going to start pummelling down, which mysteriously didn’t happen. Time out, 45 minutes. A l

ittle exercise is better than none.

Norman, Rene, Alex, Shiraz, Lora, Libby, Rachel and Edie ran to Lake City Way, down to Lougheed, east to Seaforth School to Government, down Brighton to Winston, and back to Cameron by the trail. We saw lightning but didn’t get rained on. If we would have gone east, we would have been caught in a huge downpour so we were lucky. The route was a bit different and if it had been lighter we could have carried on past Government to the trails below.

Here are the numbers: 8.15 KM 52:28 minutes for Renee and Norman, 1:02 for Libby, Rachel and Edie and somewhere in between for the others.

Saturday: Rachel, Christina, Sharon and I met Alex at the Main St. skytrain station at 8 am and ran on the NORTH side (I got a little mixed up with north and south and it took Christina and Sharon a while to get through to me) of False Creek, around the seawall to Waterfront then back to Science World, via Abbott, Expo Blvd. Rachel left us at Lumberman’s Arch, having done just over 10k and her first seawall run. The other four carried on and as Alex had parked near the train station, we decided to continue our run rather than get on the skytrain at Waterfront. Time out 2:27, including pit stops and team meetings; distance for Sharon, Christina and I 18.15, for Alex 18.7. We had coffee at the new Tim Horton’s near the train station and got home after 12 pm. It was a great run. Christina has a cold and is in the Cultus Lake tri tomorrow, but went the distance. Cruisers rock! Sharon and Rachel found that the biffy in the casino was far superior to the one at the train station.
