Saturday: Christina, Edie and Shiraz were sent off by Bob and Rod for a beautiful Saturday morning run. Shiraz ran to Broadway and Underhill then returned, while Christina and Edie ran to Kensington Centre, returning by Underhill and Forest Grove so they could visit Pat and Rod at the Salmon Festival on the way back to Cameron. Pat had her organizing done while Rod was helping kids build birdhouses. Edie and Christina visited Tim’s after their run, not to be outdone by Bob and Rod.

Some highlights from the Sun Run:
The three week delay from the usual Sun Run date produced perfect weather for this event; mild temperature, no rain, a breeze ideal to keep runners comfortable;
Pat Hargreaves, 9th in her age group;
Sharon Kelly, just seconds away from placing in her age group;
Rainy Kent, Burnaby co-ordinator for Sun Run Clinics, 6th in her age group;
Tristan May, son of Jeff and Nathalie, finished in a sizzling 54.46;
Lori Jones, qualifying for a yellow bib number next year;
Karen Rinehart, Sharon’s daughter, back to Vancouver with family to visit and run in the Sun Run;
Rachel Lindquist ran her first Sun Run; Ryan Lekivetz and Tish Oliver finished within 5 seconds of each other;
Reminder from Lori Jones while the four of us leaned over the barricade at Hornby and Georgia
that Rainy, Joe, Lori and Bobtoc trained for and ran their first marathon May 6, 1990.

Tom Jung Skytrained with us in the morning to wish us well, then bused to Abbotsford to skydive!
