Monday: Walk Don’t Run! Cheryl, Dee, Rod, Alex, Larry, Adele and Edie walked along Stoney Creek, up through the North Road trail to the map area on the way to Cardiac Hill, back down the trail to North Road and Stoney Creek. We were out for 1:38 for 7.5k. It was very hot, but cooler as we got farther up.
Wednesday: Rod ran 16k at 5:40 AM to Westridge School, back through Forest Grove and UP SHELLMONT! What a way to end a run on a hot morning.
Thursday: Edie and Laurie ran 9.4k at Rocky Point at 7:15 AM. Reminded us of Maui at 8 AM – HOT!
Friday: Debra’s Run – Rich Crooks and myself started at Rocky Point at 5:30 am. Rich ran with me for 15 km before heading back home. We ran ALL over Port Coquitlam… . … covering a lot of distance and then I just retraced some of the same route and added a bit more to get in at 26.5 km!! yeah! Time out… 3:08:15 Glad we went early… it is sure hot out now! It was a beautiful run…Brought EXTRA water… and finished off the run with my traditional… pre packed ICE COLD chocolate milk. ( Rich was given his just before he left… and I saved mine for AFTER I completed my run ) Sure tastes great after a long run!!!
Saturday:Six runners/walkers met at Rocky Point Saturday 6.45 am. Al and Lynn walked approx 10k to April Road andIoco Rd. Rick Davidson and Rod ran as far as the Ioco Refinery gates, 12 km, time 1.32. RA Edie and Bobtoc ran to April Road and Ioco Rd, 9.4 km, time 1.12. The six enjoyed cooler temperatures than what have been experienced recently. The tide was very low; water calm, great for the rowers who launched their boats as we basked on the pier apres the run.
Sunday: Cruisers and wannabes and were active Sunday at the Loggers Sports Festival by participating in the annual Squamish Days 10k Run and Flashback Mile. Debra and Stormin’ Norman of the Cruisers, Ruby and Niel Ferguson, Tyrone Wiens of the Poco Running Room clinics competed in the 10k, and Anna Hilborn and Heather Ferguson, in the Flashback Mile race. Debra and Norman reported the races were well-organized with lots of volunteers, and the temperature was HOT!!!!
