May 13 2020: New Kid in Town – Lucky Farrelly came to meet her fellow Cruisers and future walking mates. Just 6 weeks old and so full of cuteness, she charmed us all.
On Wednesday evening RA Edie ,Larry, Kevin, Alex, Susan, and Bobtoc welcomed Shiraz Mohamed
back to the group after a long absence. The destination for he seven was similar to that of Monday:
from the Centre to the Gaglardi overpass to Forest Grove Drive, crossing to a path to a trail to the north
of FGD, then west on a trail paralleling FGD, then reversing on the trail back to FGD to the portion with the
pavement back to the Gaglardi overpass, continuing to the Stoney Creek trail, then heading on the trail
west to return to the Centre. The distance was longer than that of Monday,call it 6.5 km. The weather
condition was no rain, temperature just right. Time time to complete, 1 h 21m.
Saturday May 16 2020:
On Saturday morning Alex, RA Edie, Flora, Kevin, Larry, Laura and Eoin, Bobtoc, Rene and Susan met at Cameron Centre. The destination for the run was essentially was that of Wednesday; the Stoney Creek trail to the Gaglardi overpass to Forest Grove Drive, crossing to a path to the trail north of FGD, west on that trail. Alex , Edie, Flora, Larry and Bobtoc used a path leading back to Forest Grove Drive further west than on Saturday from the trail back to Forest Grove Drive to return to the Gaglardi overpass
to the Stoney Creek trail back to the school grounds and and back to the Centre. Rene previously opted to get a run in rather than walk with the others. We were pleased to see him however. The others returned
later to the Centre. Distance for the first group, 6,5 km. and time 1h20m The weather was no rain, temperature on the cool side. The others completed their walk; don’t know their time or distance.
Flora and Susan went further up the trail after the other Cruisers turned back.
Trail was really nice with views of ravines, large trees, tickling water, and nice flowers.Trail ended close to Broadway and Underhill. They walked together till we split at .. Arden i and Flora continued her run back, mostly and Susan continued home.
Monday May 18 2020:
From Jennel, who is busy teaching the curriculum to her two daughters, and will be qualifying for her Bachelor of Education soon ha ha!
Jennel and Heather recently completed the virtual BMO Half Marathon in their neighbourhood. Way to go ladies!
Kevin, Bob, Larry, Miriam, Len, Jax, Edie, Flora, Alex met at Cameron and walked to Piper’s Spit by way of the Burnaby Lake trail on a perfect morning. The group stopped to check out the wildlife at the pier and returned by way of Government Road to the Centre. Over 6k.

Wednesday May 20 2020:
On Wednesday evening, Edie, Larry, Kevin, Alex, Rod, Shiraz, and Helen (a newcomer who lives in the Stoney Creek area), walked 6.1 km in 1h14, starting on the Stoney Creek trail, through the school and up across the Gaglardi overpass, along the Forest Grove trail and up the stairs which lead to Maple Grove Crescent, then walked up Maple Grove to Forest Grove Drive, took Forest Grove back down to the overpass, and back the way we came. It was a beautiful sunny evening with hardly anyone else on the trails, clean, pleasant air, could’ve been one of the best nights of the year!
Monday May 25th was stag evening at Cameron Centre. Alex, Larry, Shiraz and Bobtoc were the only Cruisers who turned out
For the Monday outing. The four walked the familiar route, i.e. from the Centre using Eastlake to Underhill and return
to the Centre. Time, 1.08, distance 5+ km; weather, no rain, comfortable temperature.
Wednesday May 27th: On Wednesday evening at Cameron Centre, Larry, Kevin, Alex, Shiraz and his 9 year old son, Flora, Ross, Helen Luk and
Bobtoc turned out for the outing. The route chosen was once again to the trail parallel to the Forest Grove Drive. Bobtoc,
Larry, Flora and Ross turned back on the trail after a while to return to the Centre via the Stoney Creek Elementary School
grounds to the Stoney Creek trail then to the Centre. Their time and distance were lh2minutes, and 4.5 km. The remaining
walkers continued to the end of the trail at Forest Grove Drive and Shellmont, then returned to the School grounds to the
Stoney Creek trail and back to the Centre. Their time and distance were 1hr 41 minutes, and 9,0 km respectively.
