March 2018
March 3 2018: Libby Covernton, now residing on the Sunshine Coast, delighted the Cruisers Saturday morning at the Centre by her appearance to run/walk with us. She joined Rene, Ivan, Larry, Susan, Rod, Alex, Leslie, Miriam and Bobtoc. The route proposed by Bobtoc in his previous email to go east into Coquitlam was nixed due to lingering snow and some ice on the routes there, so the group moved west to utilize Joe’s Trail. Rene and Ivan ran the trail, crossed North Road into Hume Park, up the hill, then turned back and continued to the Centre, their distance and time 10 km and 1:12; ; Rod and Larry ran/walked to North Road before turning back and returning to the Centre, their distance and time about 8 km and 1:20; Libby, Leslie, Miriam, Susan, Alex and Bobtoc walked, although Alex ran ahead to North Rpad before rejoining the walkers; in the meantime Libby cut short her walk and returned to the Centre. Leslie, Miriam and Bobtoc did not reach North Road before making their return to Cameron Centre; their distance and time, 6.5 km and 1:35 respectively. The group enjoyed some sunshine, +0 C temperature.

Jennel & Heather met at Pinetree & David, ran two laps around Town Centre Park, then headed back to their homes. Weather was great during the run. Was starting to snow up at Jennel’s home, then turned into rain, then by the time Heather & Jennel met, the skies dried up and we ran in pleasantly dry weather!!!! 10km for Heather 12.55km for Jennel (I did a couple detours…..ie) Starbucks…but still ran there!!!) LOL
Monday March 5 2018: Alex, Rod and Bobtoc met at the Centre Monday on a no rain, above 0 C evening. They decided to walk the oh so familiar Forest Grove Drive route frontwards, so headed off for the walk, and enjoyed some daylight before the sun dipped down. The trio did the 6.8 km in 1:36, and enjoyed the route and the conversation. Looking forward to a larger group Wednesday.
Wednesday March 7 2018: Alex, Larry and Bobtoc met and walked from the Centre Wednesday on a +4C, no rain evening, choosing the Forest Grove Drive route going backwards (i.e. tackling the Gaglardi overpass first). The trio did the 6:8 km route in 1:35.
