Five Cruisers: Carla, RA Edie, Larry, Norman and Bobtec met at Rocky Point Saturday am for a run to the Old Orchard beach on the north side, continued the run on Alderside to April Road and Ioco Road, then returned, rendevouzing at the pier before heading to the cars and home. Wednesday April 8th

Cruisers   stayed at anchor in droves Wednesday evening.  Larry, Tracy and Bobtheolderchap met at Cameron Centre for a 1.18 return run to the golf course and sports fields via the trail from Greystone, then headed back to Shellmont, up Shellmont to the lane north of Forest Grove Drive, continuing  to the Gaglardi overpass and back to the Centre.  The threesome enjoyed good weather for the run.  Distance, 9.8 km.   Adele sent a regrets …

Monday April 6th

Nine Cruisers met at Cameron Centre Monday including Larry and Rod who made cameo appearances only, RA Edie for a walk with her dogs April and Bella, Bobtheoldehap who ran only 22 minutes, while the remaining five, Shiraz to IGA and back, Tracy, Val, Carla, and Adele ran to Joe’s Trail, up North Road and through the trails to Lougheed Mall path and back to the centre, time about an hour.  The nine enjoyed warm …

Weekend Report – Finally some great weather!

Eight Cruisers including Jeff May ran the April Fool’s Annual Half Marathon Sunday, with some glory laud and honour abounding.   The day was the best day of the year, with temperatures in the teens, lots of sun, providing perfect weather for the run.  The route was similar to that of last year although the start was from the Gibsons Community and Recreation Centre.  The route abounds in hills.  The finish was at the Davis …

Wednesday April 1

Five Cruisers  met at the Centre  Wednesday at 6.30 pm.  Larry and Tracy, plus Chris, long-distance runner and friend of Tracy, now home from Australia, were the only ones planning for a run.  The trio ran to Como Lake, and return, did two laps of the lake, time out 58 minutes, on a cool and showery evening.  RA Edie, Rod and Bobtheolderchap convened at T. Monday March 30th

Saturday March 28th & Sunday March 29th

Nine Cruisers were active on the weekend in various activities or competitions.  On Saturday morning Carla, Larry and Tracy snowshoed at Cypress for three hours until noon under cloudy and snowy conditions.  The trail surfaces were hard-packed snow making the trio work harder than the last time up the hill.  Rod and Bobtheolderchap ran from the Centre to the IGA corner and return, time out, 1.06, distance 9.56 km;  Norman and Laurie Hilborn, plus her …

Wednesday March 25th

Seven Cruisers:    Adele, back from her spring break in Jamaica, joined  Contre-Amiral Edie, Tracy, Val, Larry, Rod and Bobtheolderchap on a dry, relatively warm Wednesday evening at the Centre for hill repeats.  Adele overcame her long-lasting cough while in Jamaica, ran from her home in Forest Grove to the Centre.  From the Centre the seven ran to Underhill and Broadway; Val and Edie ran Adele back to her home  and continued back to Cameron …
