Week of December 17th

Monday evening: Norman, Rod and Bobtoc met at the Centre, deliberated what to do since the sidewalks and roads in the area were snowy, so took a walk to North Road to strategize over hot chocolate.  Sorry, didn’t measure the mileage.  Edie soaked up culture Monday evening at Van Deusen Gardens listening to the Vancouver Men’s Orpheus Choir, one of Vancouver’s best, and enjoying the lights in the trees at the Gardens.  The weather was great for …

Week of December 10th

RA Edie, Larry, Rod and Bobtoc , the latter three being Warner’s Warriors, met at the Centre Monday evening and walked the Forest Grove route backwards, over the pedestrian overpass, west on Forest Grove, south on Underhill, east on Eastlake and you know the rest.  The foursome enjoyed a no precip, fairly mild evening, the best of the year.  Time and distance, 1:27, approx 8 km. Monday activety:   Six Cruisers showed up Monday on a cool but no precip evening.  The six walked instead of running.  Adele,  RA Edie with her dog April, Laura, Larry, Rod and Bobtoc walked west the usual route using Eastlake, Underhill, Forest Grove Drive east to the overpass, return past the Stoney Creek Elementary School, the Beaverbrooks to the Centre.  Time 1:25, distance 6+ km.  It was a treat to see Adele.      Bob Nadon’s …

Monday, Rod and Edie with Bella and April braved the downpour and walked from Cameron to the corner of Underhill and Eastlake and return, about 5k.  Then we went home and wrung ourselves out. Nine Cruisers attended a very informative talk by Dr. Mason Shore Monday evening at the Centre.  His talk was run specific, identifying several injuries common to runners, causes, and relief, often being a correction of a malady affected by a deficiency in some other part of the muscular-skeletal system.  Much discussion ensued, questions being asked, which resulted in good discussion.  Dr. Shore left us with a few simple limbering-up exercises to use before embarking on our …

Three only:  Edie, Rod and Bobtoc met at the Centre Monday on a rainless and mild evening.  The three opted to walk together, their route being the Forest Grove Drive backwards as far as Underhill Avenue to Eastlake, then returning via the usual route past the secondary school, the Beaverbrooks and Cameron St.  Time and distance, 1:34,  7.09 km respectively.
