On Wednesday evening, it was another large turnout as Edie, Flora, Rod, Brigitte, Kevin, Brenda, Glenn, Alex, Eoin, Laura, and Larry walked along the Stoney Creek trail. Brenda and Brigitte walked on the trail to North Road and returned the same way, while the rest of the group turned onto Norcrest and returned on Noel Drive.
Distance for Brenda and Brigitte was about 5 km and time about 45 minutes, and for the rest of the group the distance was closer to 4.5 km and time about 50 minutes. Alex jogged the route and jogged before our walk too, so his distance was probably more than 7 km.

On a beautiful sunny Saturday morning Edie, Larry, René, and Liane met at Rocky Point, and walked on trails to the new overpass, then continued on. Larry and René walked to Old Orchard Park and turned back from there, distance about over 7 km and time 1h30, while Edie and Liane went along Alderside to Ioco Road then returned, their distance 10 km and time 2 hours.
Afterwards ice cream and coffee was enjoyed, and Flora came by after her 7 km run with the Fit First group at Christine Sinclair Centre.

On Monday evening Eoin, Laura, Edie, Flora, and Larry met at the mall and walked down Beaverbrook to the Stoney Creek trail, which we followed to Norcrest and Noel and returned using that route. Our distance was about 4.5 km and our time about 1h10.
We avoided the rain for most of our walk, starting out in light drizzle which subsided early on, only to encounter the wet stuff more steadily near the end of our walk.

On Saturday morning Edie, Kevin, Len, Shiraz, Liane, and Larry met at the Burnaby Mtn. golf course and walked on the trail behind the course that runs parallel to Arden Ave., then went into the residential area of Meadowood, to Shellmont, and up the trail to Underhill, then down to Broadway, Arden trail, and back to the golf course coffee shop, where we met Laura and Eoin, who had walked the trails with Lucky. Several of us stayed for refreshments and interesting discussions.
Our walk time was 1h28, distance very close to 7 km, thanks Len and Shiraz for the stats!
Meanwhile Flora did her run-walk with the Fit First gang at Christine Sinclair Centre and no doubt Alex did the Park Run at Central Park.

On Saturday morning it was just Kevin and Larry out at Rocky Point on a drizzly morning, but it was still good weather for walking. We walked partly on the paved and gravel trails, took the new overpass to the trail that goes to Old Orchard beach park, then returned along the paved trail. We tried a new ice cream flavour – Irish cream brownie – that also had a whiskey flavour in it as well although no breathalyzer test was required when we finished.
Our walk distance was 9 km and walk time was about 2 hours.

First, my apologies to Flora and Alex for my brain freeze on Wednesday’s walk report. Both of them were there, walk-jogging to Production Way and back, getting more distance than the walkers, close to 5.5 km. Also, the previous Saturday they both did the Park Run at Mundy Park, Alex running 7.5 km total in a time of 1h40 and Flora running 6 km in a time of 1h12.
On Saturday morning Edie, Kevin, and Larry met at the parking lot at the Burnaby Art Gallery near Shadbolt Centre, and walked around the Deer Lake trails on an almost spring-like sunny morning with a bit of a chill in the air. Our distance was about 5 km and our time was 1h10.
On Saturday afternoon, Len, Miriam, Flora, Alex, Angela, and Edie walked for the Coldest Night Walk at Marlborough School in Burnaby, raising over $3,000. Congratulations!
