On Wednesday evening Brigitte, Flora and her friend Gillian walked to the Gaglardi overpass and into the Forest Grove trails, their distance 7.6 km. Thanks to Flora for her report!

On Monday evening Kevin, Rod, Flora, and Larry walked from the mall and along the Stoney Creek trail, not all the way to North Road but most of the way, our distance about 4 km and our time about 1h10. It was drizzly the whole way but still okay for a walk. We said hello to Brigitte who attended a zumba class at Cameron Centre in the mall.

On Saturday morning Liane, René, Edie, her sister Chris, Flora, and Larry met at Rocky Point and walked to Old Orchard Park and returned, and Flora, René and Liane continued back to the beach while the rest of the group returned to Rocky Point. The distance was about 6 km; for Flora, René and Liane about 10 km or more; and walk time was about 1.5h. Ice cream was enjoyed after.

On Wednesday Edie, Liane, Brigitte, Glenn, Brenda, Rod and Kevin were there. Glenn, Rod and Kevin walked Keswick park to Bell, duck pond to the mall. The ladies went to Keswick, Government, Brunette Fraser trail to Eastlake, Cameron to the mall. Thanks to Kevin for the report!

On Monday morning Edie, Kevin, Shiraz, and Larry walked from Burnaby Mountain golf course along the urban trail to Kensington Shopping Centre, and returned the same way, our distance 7 km and walking time about 1h20. We had refreshments after at the golf course. Great sunny weather for a walk!

On Saturday morning Flora, Liane, Edie, Kevin, Shiraz, Eoin, Laura, and Larry met at Queen’s Park and walked around the residential area of the park area in New West, mostly along 6th Ave., 6th St., and 3rd Ave., before stopping for coffee at Waves.

The group walked about 4.5 km. Flora, Liane and Edie walked a further 2.5 km before joining the rest of the group at coffee. Walking time was about 2.5 hours. Thanks for the stats Flora!

On Wednesday evening Glenn, Brenda, Kevin, Edie, Brigitte, Liane, Flora, and Larry walked through the Salish Court area to view the Canada geese goslings at the pond, then went over to the Stoney Creek trail to North Road, and returned along Beaverbrook and Cameron, our distance close to 6 km and our time about 1h15.

On Monday evening Shiraz and Larry walked from the mall to Keswick Park, up to Halston, then down to Government, Eastlake trail to Cameron, and back to the mall, distance about 5 km and time about 1h05.

We were joined on our return to the mall by Brigitte and Liane, who attended a Zumba class at Cameron Centre in the mall, and later by Brenda and Glenn.

On Saturday morning Flora, Liane, Len with Jax, and Larry met at Mundy Park and walked around the perimeter trail. Lots of activity throughout the park but the trail wasn’t crowded early in the morning.

Our distance was about 5 km and our time was about 1h10.

On Wednesday evening Edie, her niece Patti, Brigitte, Rod, Brenda, Glenn, Sandy, Flora, Alex, and Larry met at the mall and walked the Stoney Creek trail, with most of the group going to North Road while some turned back a bit early; group distance about 5 km and time about 1h10; Alex jogged further around the school trails, his distance 7.6 km and time 1h14.

On Monday evening Glenn, Brenda, Alex, Flora, Rod, and Kevin walked along Stoney Creek trail. Glenn led the group to the duck pond to check out the Canadian Geese goslings. Then on to Bell to the trail. Thanks Kevin for the report!

From Flora: On Tuesday Flora did a walk around the Mundy Park perimeter trail, which was nice and shady, her distance 4.77 km and time 58 minutes.

May 04 – May the 4th Be With You

On Saturday morning Edie, Ian from Burke Mountain Naturalists, Kevin, Flora, Miriam, Len with Jax, and Larry met at the Port Moody Rec Centre and walked on the paved and gravel trails along the shoreline of the inlet, distance approximately 4 km, time about 55 minutes. Edie and Ian went off to set up for the Fingerling Festival while the rest of the group sat in a shady spot at the rec centre and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

On Wednesday evening Kevin, Rod, Brigitte, Edie, Flora, René, Glenn, Brenda, and Larry met at the mall and walked along the Stoney Creek trail to North Road and back; Kevin, Larry, Edie, and Glenn turned back at the Como Lake overpass, their distance 3.5 km; distance for the rest of the group was 5 km and time range from 50 minutes to 1h10.
